The women's basketball team, seeded fourth, hosted #5 Oswego in the quarterfinals of the SUNYAC tournament and raced to a 65-39 win to advance to Friday's semifinals at Cortland. Geneseo raced to a 43-16 lead at halftime by shooting 56% (15-27) from the floor, 55% (6-11) from the arc and 88% (7-8) from the line, while holding the Lakers to 15% shooting from the floor and 13% from the arc. Junior Brittany Finkle led a balanced attack with 11 points on 3-7 from the floor and 5-6 from the line with five rebounds and junior Alyssa Polosky added 10 points and seven boards on 4-6 from the field and 2-4 from the arc. Junior Khadija Campbell and sophomores Bri Dunton and Katelyn Charbonneau scored nine points each with Dunton dishing a career-high 10 assists. Geneseo's starters played just 101 of the 200 minutes as the Knights built the lead to 37 in the second half at 57-20 with 13:23 to play and cleared the bench. The Blue Knights advance to 16-10 on the season and take on top-seeded Cortland (23-3) on Friday at 8 p.m.
