The men's lacrosse team, ranked 10th in the latest USILA Coaches Poll, ripped off 12 consecutive goals to take a 12-2 lead at halftime and cruised to a 17-7 win over #21 Ithaca College at Onondaga Community College this afternoon. After falling behind 2-0, Geneseo scored three times in the final 2:39 of the first quarter to take a 3-2 lead and dominated the second stanza, 9-0. Geneseo cleared the bench early in the second half as each team scored five times in the second half of play. Sophomore Jeff Watson had two goals and three assists in the opening half and junior Craig Lange added a goal and three helpers. Junior Scott Cost scored three of his four goals in the first half, including two man-up, and sophomore Brendan Kurpis added two goals and one assist. First year Tim Hayden netted a goal with two assists, while juniors Bobby King and Evan Bryant netted a pair of goals. Senior Dennis Costanza stopped eight shots in 45 minutes of action in picking up his third win in goal. Geneseo moves to 3-0 on the season and plays Keene State on Wednesday in Orlando, Florida.
