The women's softball team won a pair of games on Friday to complete their Florida trip with a record of 5-5. Geneseo defeated Babson (Mass.) by a score of 4-3 in the opening game by scoring four runs in the second inning. First year Lexi Williams doubled, sophomore Molly Walsh walked and Williams scored on an RBI single by Chrissy Fretthold. Sophomore KK Schaus walked, Walsh scored on an RBI single by junior Sam Guarrera, who finished 3-4. Senior Katie Holm reached on an error that scored Fretthold and Schaus with what would turn out to be the winning runs. Junior Janine Montera scattered seven hits, allowed two earned runs and had three strikeouts, including the last two batters with the tying run on second in the seventh inning. In the second game, Geneseo won a 4-3 decision in eight innings over FDU-Florham when Holm singled home Kelsey Ogden with the winning run in the tiebreaker. Sophomore Mary Bostwick allowed eight hits, two earned runs with three strikeouts. Ogden and Holm went 2-4 and Guarrera finished 1-3 with an RBI double. Geneseo hosts Hilbert on Wednesday, March 31 at 3:30 p.m.
