Sunday's Contest Summaries

Men's Lacrosse

The men's lacrosse team, ranked sixth in the latest USILA poll, dropped their first game of the season by a score of 16-9 to the RIT Tigers this afternoon. Geneseo led 4-3 late in the first half before RIT took advantage of a late turnover to tie the game at intermission. The Tigers jumped on the Knights with six goals in the third and six more in the fourth. Junior Craig Lange led Geneseo with three goals and one assist and sophomore Brendan Kurpis added a trio of scores. Sophomore Chris Adams contributed two goals, Scott Cost scored one goal and senior Dennis Costanza stopped 14 shots in nets. Geneseo falls to 4-1 on the season and hosts Clarkson on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Women's Equestrian

The women's equestrian team qualified three riders for next week's Zone championships. Geneseo's Casey Williamson finished first in the Walk, Trot, Canter class, Ashley Kresge won a first place ribbon on the flat in the Novice class and Katie Roberts won a third place award on the flat in the Open class.
