The women's softball team traveled to Potsdam on Friday afternoon and swept the Bears, 5-1 and 12-1 in five innings. In the opener, junior Janine Montera tossed a four-hitter and allowed one unearned run with nine strikeouts to earn the win. Sophomore KK Schaus hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning to break the game open, junior Megan Pogemiller went 3-4 with a double and first year Stef Rosenberg was 1-3 with two RBI. In the second game, Geneseo scored seven runs in the initial two innings and cruised to the win. First year Jess Steubing was 3-3 with three doubles and three RBI, Schaus was 3-4 with two doubles and two RBI and senior Katie Holm went 2-4 with three runs and four RBI. Sophomore Mary Bostwick allowed two hits and one unearned run in five innings with six strikeouts, senior Karen Wagner was 3-3 with two runs and an RBI and sophomore Kelsey Ogden finished 2-4 with two runs. The Knights move to 18-12 overall and 6-6 in SUNYAC and complete the road trip at Plattsburgh on Saturday.
