NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships

Men's Cross Country

The men's cross country team, ranked third in the latest USTFCCCA Coaches Poll, finished in seventh place today with 233 points at the NCAA Division III championships hosted by Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Geneseo saw three individuals earn All-America honors as junior Lee Berube finished eighth in the race in 24:33, senior Ryan O'Connor placed 10th in 24:36 and junior Eddie Novara ran 27th in 24:49. Senior Bill Juda and first year Patrick Wortner completed the scoring five for the Blue Knights with a 79th place (25:20) and a 185th place (25:59), respectively. Senior Mark Streb was 192nd in 26:03 and senior Lee Gabler finished 201st in 26:10.

Women's Cross Country

The women's cross country team, ranked seventh in the latest USTFCCCA Coaches Poll, placed 12th of 32 teams with 387 points this afternoon at the NCAA Division III championships in Waverly, Iowa. Sophomore Marissa Liberati posted an All-America finish for Geneseo as she ran 27th in a time of 21:40. Junior Alyssa Smith was 66th in 22:10, Julie Dmochowski ran 130th in 22:38, Emily Sullivan was 165th in 22:55 and Mary Aldridge finished 171st in 22:56 as the scoring runners for the Blue Knights. Junior Ashley Jones ran 187th in 23:03 and Danae Polsin finished 207th in 23:09.
