NFHCA All-America Team

Senior Michelle Milkovich became the first Geneseo field hockey player named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America team, earning second team recognition. The senior forward from Vestal, New York holds Geneseo career marks with 36 assists and 104 points and is the single-season record holder in goals (15), assists (13) and points (43), all set in the 2010 campaign in which she led Geneseo to their first SUNYAC title and appearance in the NCAA Division III championships.

SUNYAC Athletes of the Week

Junior Nate Foley and senior Michelle Rodriguez earned SUNYAC Swimmer of the Week honors as announced by the State University of New York Athletic Conference on Monday.

Foley was a double winner for Geneseo at the Hamilton Quad as he won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 4:55.03 and the 1,000 free in a time of 10:07.42 to claim SUNYAC Men's Swimmer of the Week. He out touched the competition in the 500 free by six-one hundredths of a second and won the 1000 free by three seconds.

Rodriguez earns her second consecutive SUNYAC women's swimmer of the week honor after winning the 200 freestyle in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:54.47, the 100 freestyle in an NCAA provisional qualifying and pool-record time of 52.41 and anchoring the winning 400 freestyle relay team (3:39.68) with the fastest 100-yard split at the Hamilton Quad meet on Saturday.

The Geneseo Ice Knights moved up five spots to #9 in the latest USCHO.com Division III Poll with 119 points. Geneseo stands at 6-1-2 after weekend wins over Brockport and Hobart. The Ice Knights travel to the Adrian Tournament on Friday and Saturday, where they will face #5 Hamline on Friday and Wisconsin Eau-Claire on Saturday.
