Senior Khadija Campbell scored 14 points and 12 rebounds and classmate Alyssa Polosky led the Blue Knights with 15 points as the women's basketball team advanced to the semifinals with a 71-55 win over visiting RIT in the opening round of the Wendy's College Classic. Polosky scored 10 of her 15 in the opening half, finishing 6-12 from the field, 2-5 from the arc and 1-3 from the line with six rebounds, while Campbell netted 6-9 from the floor and 2-5 from the arc on the way to her double-double. Geneseo led by as many as 20 points in the first half at 36-16 with 5:25 to play, but the Tigers responded with a 20-8 run over 10 minutes to cut the Geneseo lead to 44-36 with 15:16 left in the second half. The Blue Knights reeled off 10 straight to take command of the contest and cruise to the win. Sophomore Melissa Graham added nine points and seven boards and junior Bri Dunton added nine assists as Geneseo got points from 13 different players. The Blue Knights move to 4-0 on the season and face Roberts Wesleyan, an 88-49 winner over St. John Fisher, in the semifinals on Thursday at Roberts at 8 p.m.
