The host Roberts Wesleyan Raiders defeated the women's basketball team in the semifinals of the Wendy's College Classic tonight by a score of 67-58. In the first half, the Blue Knights trailed 31-16 with 3:40 to play before scoring seven straight to end the period for a 31-23 intermission score. In the second period, Geneseo's 11-0 spurt gave the Knights their lone lead of the game at 45-44, but Roberts Wesleyan responded with seven consecutive points to take command of the game at 51-45 with 7:09 left. Senior Alyssa Polosky scored 15 points with 10 rebounds on 4-8 from the field, 2-5 from the arc and 5-6 from the line, while junior Bri Dunton made all five of her charity shots on the way to 11 points. Senior Khadija Campbell netted eight points with 11 boards, junior Katelyn Charbonneau scored nine points and sophomore Melissa Graham added six points and eight caroms. Geneseo falls to 4-1 on the season and takes on William Smith College in Saturday's third place game at 1 p.m. at Roberts Wesleyan.
