SUNYAC Athletes of the Week
Junior Ken Pink and senior Michelle Rodriguez earned SUNYAC Swimmer of the Week honors and junior Lee Berube claimed SUNYAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the State University of New York Athletic Conference on Monday, December 6.
Pink accounted for 110 points individually at this past weekend's ECAC Winter Championship meet, helping the Blue Wave finish second as a team. He won the 100-yard breast in 58.56, finished third in the 200-yard breast in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 2:06.59, swam fourth in the 200 IM in 1:56.39, placed fifth in the 400 IM in 4:15.58. Pink was also part of the 200-yard medley relay team that turned in a second place time of 1:35.13 and the 400 medley team that was third in 3:33.70.
Rodriguez earns her third consecutive SUNYAC women's swimmer of the week honor after winning the 100-yard freestyle with an NCAA Division III automatic qualifying and meet-record time of 51.15; won the 200 free in an NCAA provisional and meet-record time of 1:51.44 and captured the 500 free in a provisional and meet record time of 5:01.17. In addition, she anchored the second place 800 freestyle relay team to an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7:44.48, the 400 freestyle relay team to a provisional time of 3:33.51 and the 400 medley relay team to a third-place time of 3:58.99 at the ECAC Winter Championships.
Berube won the 5,000 meters in a school record and NCAA Automatic Qualifying time of 14:23.34 and participated on the winning Distance Medley Relay, which crossed in a time of 10:41.79 at the Cornell Relays.

The Geneseo Ice Knights moved up one spot to #9 in the latest USCHO.com Division III Poll with 122 points. Geneseo stands at 8-3-2 after defeating Cortland on Friday and falling to #1 Oswego on Saturday. The Ice Knights are off for the semester break and return on January 7 to host Franklin Pierce.
