The men's basketball team returned to action tonight after the semester break and held on for a 64-61 win over host D'Youville. In the first half, Geneseo raced to a 42-31 lead as first year Thomas Decker made a three-pointer off a baseline inbounds pass at the first half buzzer. In the second half, D'Youville erased a nine-point deficit to pull within one at 62-61 with 1:37 to play. After a Geneseo turnover with 19 seconds to play, D'Youville missed a last shot attempt with four ticks left and Decker cashed a pair of free throws to make the final. Sophomore Ryan Riefenhauser scored 12 points with a game-high 13 rebounds to pace the attack and junior Mike Hoy netted nine of his 10 points in the opening half. Junior Ethan Estabrooks added nine points and junior Abe Miller scored all eight of his points in the first stanza with eight rebounds. The Blue Knights move to 6-2 on the season and travel to Plattsburgh on Friday.
