Men's Ice Hockey
The Geneseo men's ice hockey team, ranked #6 in the latest USCHO.com poll, traveled to Springfield, Massachusetts tonight and trounced the Western New England College Bears, 9-1. Sophomore Kaz Iwamoto scored a goal and three assists and senior Michael Forgione collected two goals and one assist to pace the Ice Knights. Junior Jonathan Redlick turned in a goal and two helpers and classmate Cory Gershon made 20 saves before having his shutout bid spoiled with 3:21 left in the final stanza. First year Rich Manley scored a goal and an assist, while senior Trevor Elliott and junior Stefan Decosse added two assists each. Senior Andrew Rygiel and juniors David Arduin, Jake Yard and Jimmy Powers scored single tallies. Geneseo moves to 11-3-2 on the season and hosts the Elmira Soaring Eagles on Saturday at 7 p.m.
