Women's Basketball

Junior Bri Dunton scored 15 points with four steals and four assists to lead the Geneseo women's basketball team to their eighth straight win, 64-45, over visiting Oswego tonight. The Blue Knights led 30-23 at the intermission and kept the lead at double digits from the 18-minute mark of the second half. Dunton hit 6-9 from the floor and 3-6 from the line, senior Alyssa Polosky made 6-13 from the field on her way to 14 points with eight rebounds and senior Brittany Finkle netted nine of her 11 points in the first half with seven boards. Senior Khadija Campbell added eight points and five rebounds and sophomore Kyra Rhoades grabbed five caroms in six minutes off the bench.The Blue Knights move to 12-2 overall and 7-0 in SUNYAC and host Cortland on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Men's Ice Hockey

The Geneseo men's ice hockey team, ranked seventh in the latest USCHO.com poll, traveled to #13 Plattsburgh tonight and dropped a 4-2 decision. After a scoreless first period, Plattsburgh erupted for three goals in the second at 3:45, 7:34 and 15:49, all even strength goals. Geneseo got on the board at 9:25 of the third when David Arduin scored a shorthanded goal with Trevor Elliott and Jake Yard picking up the assists. Sophomore Colin deJersey scored unassisted at 14:16 to cut the lead to one goal, but Plattsburgh added an empty net score with 1:19 remaining in the game. Junior Cory Gershon made 24 saves and allowed three goals in taking the loss in nets as the Ice Knights fall to 11-5-2 overall and 5-3-1 in SUNYAC. Geneseo travels to Potsdam on Saturday.

Men's Basketball

The Geneseo men's basketball team hosted SUNYAC-first place Oswego tonight and lost by a score of 93-76. Oswego raced out to a 13-2 lead and led by as many as 14 in the opening half before Geneseo went on a 15-5 run to cut the lead to four at 29-25 with 3:01 to play. The Lakers used a 12-6 run of their own over the remaining three minutes to lead by 10 at the half, 41-31. Oswego's lead remained double figures throughout the second half and grew to as many as 20 points at 74-54 with 6:30 left. Junior Abe Miller hit 9-14 from the floor on his way to 20 points with seven rebounds to lead Geneseo. Junior Mike Hoy added 15 points and four assists on 4-11 from the floor and 5-7 from the line, first year Lamont Stokes grabbed nine rebounds and senior Mike Baker dished six assists for the Blue Knights. Geneseo falls to 7-7 overall and 1-6 in SUNYAC. Geneseo hosts Cortland on Saturday at 4 p.m.
