Men's Lacrosse Earns Preseason Marks

Men's Lacrosse

The Geneseo men's lacrosse team earned high praise in two different preseason rankings as the Blue Knights prepare for their season opener on Wednesday, March 2 versus Lycoming College. Geneseo earned the #12 preseason ranking for Division III by the well-respected FaceOff Magazine, the printed publication of InsideLacrosse.com. Individually, senior attack Craig Lange and senior defender Joe May earned second team preseason All-America recognition by the organization, while junior attack Brendan Kurpis was an honorable mention choice.

Geneseo posted a #14 ranking in Division III in Lacrosse Magazine, the printed publication of U.S. Lacrosse. Geneseo achieved specific recognition in the publication as the answer to one of their "Three Big Questions". The following was taken directly from the preview article:

"What team could step into the limelight this season?"

"Geneseo has been lurking around the cusp of national prominence, and this might be the year that the Knights not only break out of the shadow of its SUNYAC rival, Cortland, but also make a name on the national scene. Almost all of the points from the 2010 campaign return for the Knights, along with a decent defense, making Genny a likely candidate for the big time this spring."

In addition, Lange was mentioned as one of nine "Division III Key Players" for the 2011 season.
