Six members of the Geneseo men's and women's cross country teams earned United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic team recognition as announced on Tuesday, February 15.
The All-Academic team is comprised of runners who finished in the top 35 at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional championship and carry a 3.30 or higher cumulative grade point average.
Seniors Lee Gabler and Bill Juda represented the men's team for Geneseo, while sophomore Marissa Liberati and juniors Julie Dmochowski, Danae Polsin and Alyssa Smith claimed honors for the women's team. This is the second award for Liberati and the first for the other five runners.
The women's cross country team was recognized with a USTFCCCA team award as announced on Thursday, February 17. 167 Division III institutions received the distinction for having a cumulative team grade point average of 3.10 or higher. Geneseo's women boast a 3.31 average for their 21-member squad and earn a team award for the fifth consecutive year.
