2011 SUNYAC WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS
The women's basketball team headlines the Geneseo participants in this week's SUNYAC Championships.Tickets to all SUNYAC events are $5 for adults and $2 for students. SUNY Geneseo will provide the first 200 SUNY Geneseo students a FREE ticket to Tuesday's women's basketball quarterfinal game! Please check back for further ticket promotions as the week progresses.
The Blue Knight women's basketball team posted a regular season record of 22-3 with a 17-1 mark in conference play on their way to the #1 seed in the championship tournament. Geneseo hosts #8 Brockport (6-19/4-14 SUNYAC) in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The other quarterfinal contests feature #2 Oneonta vs. #7 Plattsburgh, #6 Oswego traveling to #3 New Paltz, at #4 Cortland hosting #5 Buffalo State. The quarterfinal winners advance to the semifinals on Friday, February 25 at 6 & 8 p.m. at the highest remaining seed, with the championship game is slated for Saturday, February 26 at 4 p.m.
In men's ice hockey, Geneseo earned the #2 seed in the SUNYAC tournament with an overall record of 16-7-2 and a SUNYAC mark of 10-5-1. The first round of the tournament takes place on Wednesday, February 23 with #3 Buffalo State hosting #6 Fredonia and #4 Plattsburgh entertaining #5 Morrisville.
The Ice Knights receive a first round bye in the six-team tournament and will host #3 Buffalo State, #4 Plattsburgh or #5 Morrisville in the semifinals on Saturday, February 26 at 7 p.m. Top-seeded Oswego receives a first round bye and will host the other semifinal on Saturday vs. #4 Plattsburgh, #5 Morrisville or #6 Fredonia. The SUNYAC tournament is rebracketed following the first round games with Oswego facing the lowest remaining seed and Geneseo taking on the highest remaining seed.

The SUNYAC championship game is slated for Saturday, March 5 at the highest remaining seed.
The men's indoor track and field team travels to Hobart College in Geneva, New York on Saturday, February 26 to defend their 2010 team title. The Blue Knights have won six of the past 10 indoor conference championships. On the women's side, Geneseo looks for their first SUNYAC title since 2006, when they captured their fourth consecutive crown.
