Junior Ryan Craig scored into the upper right corner from just inside the right faceoff circle with 2:13 remaining in overtime to lift the visting fourth-seeded Plattsburgh Cardinals to a 3-2 win over second-seeded Geneseo tonight. The Cardinals will host #6 Fredonia, a 2-1 winner in overtime at #1 Oswego, for the SUNYAC championship on Saturday, March 5.

The Ice Knights scored the lone goal of the first period as junior Danny Scagnelli ripped a slap shot from just inside the blue line on the power play with 56 seconds left in the frame with sophomore Colin de Jersey and junior Jonathan Redlick picking up assists. In the second period, Plattsburgh tied the game at 6:33 as junior Vick Schlueter came free in front and scored from Patrick Jobb and Jared Docking. Plattsburgh took a 2-1 lead at 5:36 of the third period as senior Dylan Clarke shot from behind the goal and bounced the puck in off a defensemen with Schlueter assisting.

Geneseo tied the game with only 1:09 left with the goalie pulled as junior Ryan Bulach scored on a rebound of junior Jake Yard's shot with junior Stefan Decosse adding a helper. Junior Cory Gershon made 34 saves, including a pair on breakaway chances in the overtime, in taking the loss for Geneseo, who finishes 16-8-2 on the season.

Sophomore Josh Leis made 37 saves for the Cardinals, including a pair of point blank chances late in the overtime, as they advance to 19-7-1 on the season.
