The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced the 2011 SUNYAC Women's and Men's Basketball All-Conference teams on Monday, February 28.
The Geneseo women's basketball team placed three players on the squad as senior forward Alyssa Polosky and junior point guard Bri Dunton earned first team recognition, while senior forward Khadija Campbell claimed second team All-SUNYAC.
It is the first All-SUNYAC recognition for Polosky and Dunton, while Campbell earns second team for the second year in a row. Polosky leads Geneseo's balanced attack with 11.2 points and is third in rebounding at 6.6, Dunton is third in scoring with 9.6 points and hands out a team-high 3.8 assists and Campbell combines 9.4 points with a team-best 7.6 rebounds.
Head coach Scott Hemer was named SUNYAC Women's Basketball Coach of the Year for the first time in his four seasons after the Blue Knights posted a 25-3 record, won the SUNYAC regular season title with a 17-1 mark and captured the fourth SUNYAC tournament title in program history with a 55-48 win over #2 Oneonta on Saturday. The Blue Knights received the automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament.
The men's basketball team, who finished 11-14 overall and 5-13 in SUNYAC, had no representatives on the 15-player All-Conference team.
