Senior Evan Bryant came off the bench to score three goals to lead the Geneseo men's lacrosse team to a 13-8 win over the St. Lawrence Saints in Clermont, Florida this afternoon. Geneseo got off to a quick start, leading 3-0 after one, 8-0 at half and 11-0 five minutes into the third quarter before going to the bench. St. Lawrence netted four goals in the final five minutes. Senior Craig Lange added three points on a goal and two assists, while senior Ray Ryan and junior Jeff Watson scored two goals each and senior Scott Cost dished two assists. First year Ryan Zaremba made seven saves and allowed three goals in 39 minutes of play to earn the win in nets. Geneseo is 2-1 on the year and takes on Keene St. on Wednesday.
The women's softball team continued their spring trip in Clermont, Florida and lost a pair of games today. In the opener, Geneseo dropped a 9-0 decision in six innings to Keene State. Senior Janine Montera allowed seven runs with four walks and four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings and sophomore Katie Gallagher allowed two runs to close out the game. Sophomore Lexi Williams went 1-2 with a double and classmate Stef Rosenberg was 1-3. In the second game, Geneseo lost a 4-0 result to Rhode Island College. Junior Kelsey Ogden was 2-3 and Williams and Rachel Atkins went 1-2 at the plate. Junior Mary Bostwick went the distance in the circle, allowing six hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Geneseo is 1-3 on the season and continues with games against Ithaca College and St. Scholastica on Wednesday.
