Women's Basketball

Senior forward Alyssa Polosky (Endicott, N.Y./Union-Endicott) earned honorable mention State Farm/WBCA All-America as announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association today.

A two-year starter after transferring from Broome Community College, Polosky led Geneseo with 11.0 points and added 6.4 rebounds and 56 blocked shots in 2010-11, shooting 41.1% (113-275) from the floor, 35.2% (44-125) from the arc and 75.3% (61-81) from the line. A first team All-SUNYAC selection, Polosky aided Geneseo to a 26-4 record, the SUNYAC regular season and tournament championship and a bid to the NCAA Division III tournament, where they defeated DeSales University in the first round before falling to Babson College.

Polosky, Geneseo's all-time shot blocker with 106 in two seasons, becomes the 135th student-athlete at Geneseo to earn All-America and is the fifth women's basketball player, joining three-time winner Megan Mackey '98, two-time honoree Katie Smith '95, Carey Janis '95 and Annie Verdino '06.
