First year Caroline Buonocore scored five goals with four draws and three groundballs and senior Anna Hutchings scored three goals with two assists to lead the #22 Geneseo women's lacrosse team to a 16-4 win over visiting St. Lawrence at Honeoye Falls-Lima High School this afternoon. St. Lawrence scored the opening goal of the game, but the Blue Knights scored four straight on their way to a 9-2 lead at intermission. First year Emily Haggerty scored two goals with one assist, while senior Lauren Burgoon and sophomores Lea Paris and Rachel Petrone netted a goal and an assist apiece. Seniors Casie Damore and Megan Blaich and junior Kim Magee scored single tallies. Senior Annie Smith picked up the win in nets by making 13 saves as the Blue Knights remain unbeaten at 4-0. Geneseo travels to Fredonia on Tuesday to begin SUNYAC play.
The women's tennis team traveled to Division I St. Bonaventure on Wednesday and dropped an 8-1 decision to the Bonnies. Geneseo's lone win came at sixth singles as sophomore Katie Talbot won a 6-1, 6-1 victory. The second doubles tandem of first year Lucy Mehrabyan and junior Melissa Baker led 7-4 only to have the Bonnies come back to win 9-7 and junior Monica Vieth played a close match at first singles, 6-2, 7-6 (4). Geneseo is 10-2 on the season and hosts Roberts Wesleyan on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
