Sophomore Jane LePage went 3-4 with three doubles and two RBI and senior Janine Montera scattered six hits with two walks and nine strikeouts in leading the visiting Geneseo women's softball team to a 7-0 win over Buffalo State this afternoon in the first game of the doubleheader. Junior KK Schaus was 2-3 with an RBI double, first year Patty Callahan was 2-3 with a run and senior Megan Pogemiller hit a solo homer, her fifth of the season. Junior Kelsey Ogden was 1-3 with two runs and an RBI and sophomore Lexi Williams had an RBI double in the first inning. In the second game, sophomore Jess Steubing, who finished 3-3, singled home Schaus, who was 2-3, in the first inning for Geneseo, but Buffalo State erupted on offense and earned the split with a 10-1 win in five innings. First year Sam Trapasso was 1-3 with a double, while LePage and Williams each went 1-3. Sophomore Katie Gallagher allowed eight earned runs on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings and Callahan allowed no hits with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings of relief. Geneseo is 11-13 overall and 2-6 in SUNYAC and hosts Oswego on Wednesday at 3 p.m. on the Vic Raschi Field.
