Senior Anne Beinetti (pictured left) scored two goals to lead the visiting Geneseo women's soccer team to a 9-0 win over Keuka College tonight. The Blue Knights had seven other scorers including junior Shannon Spusta, senior Kelly Bergin, junior Stephanie Verdino, sophomore Kelly Quinn, senior Rian Jock, sophomore Alexa Krebs and sophomore Erin Beach. Junior Emily Novak dished out two assists. Sophomore Julia Sanger made one save in the first half and first year Allison Stamp was untested in the second half. The Blue Knights move to 8-3-1 on the season and travel to Brockport on Saturday.
The Geneseo women's volleyball team dropped a four-set match to the host RIT Tigers, 25-20, 27-25, 17-25, 25-17. Senior Kat Strickland (pictured left) paced the attack with 17 kills and sophomore Noelle Morrison handed out 49 assists. First year Sarah Dewey added 10 kills and junior Laura Galvin contributed 28 digs. Geneseo drops to 11-13 overall and hosts Cortland on Friday.
The Geneseo men's soccer team hosted the Nazareth College Golden Flyers (5-5-0) this afternoon and lost a 2-0 decision. Nazareth struck first with five minutes remaining in the first half when Luke Elston beat a Geneseo defender on the right endline and served a pass across to Ryan Foley, who converted a shot inside the right post at 40:11. In the second half, Nazareth made it 2-0 at 70:36 when James Wheeler collected a deflected shot all alone in front and tapped the ball into an open net. Geneseo's Sam Murphy made two saves in taking the loss as the Blue Knights fall to 6-4-1 on the season. Geneseo hosts Brockport on Saturday at 1 p.m.
