Senior Anne Beinetti (pictured left) scored her 14th goal of the season at the 3:23 mark of overtime to lead the host Geneseo women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over the Oswego Lakers (8-6/2-5 SUNYAC). Geneseo controlled play throughout the game as they posted a 13-7 shot advantage and a 6-3 corner kick lead. The majority of the Laker shots came from outside the 18-yard box as sophomore Julia Sanger made five saves to post her fourth shutout of the campaign. On the game-winner, senior Bella Masotti picked up the assist as she fed a through ball up the middle to a streaking Beinetti, who went in alone on Oswego goalie Emily Varonier and scored on a low shot from 12 yards out. Geneseo moves to 10-3-1 overall and 3-2-1 in SUNYAC and hosts Cortland on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Junior Jop Smit (pictured left) scored the game-winning goal with just 6:30 left in regulation to give the visiting Geneseo men's soccer team a 2-1 win over Oswego this afternoon. Despite controlling the shot totals, 21-3, Geneseo finally snapped a scoreless tie at 70:23 when Neil Allen scored his fourth goal of the season. Oswego struck 3:33 later to tie the game, which led to Smit's heroics as he netted his third score of the campaign. Senior Sam Murphy made two saves to post the win as Geneseo moves to 7-5-1 overall and 4-2-0 in SUNYAC. The Blue Knights travel to Cortland on Saturday.
