Women's Field Hockey
Sophomore Kayla DeAngelis (pictured left) scored two goals, including the game winner with 2:57 remaining, to set a Geneseo single season record with 16 in leading the women's field hockey team to a 4-3 victory over host Washington & Jefferson (11-3). Geneseo trailed 1-0 when DeAngelis scored on a penalty stroke at 12:43 to tie the contest. Sophomore Bridget McGovern gave Geneseo a 2-1 lead at 16:17 on an assist from Rachel Atkins. The Presidents tied the score at 19:29 to make it 2-2 at the intermission. W&J took a 3-2 lead with a goal at 57:37, but the Blue Knights scored twice on penalty corners in a span of 1:14 to gain the victory. Atkins scored on an assist from Farley at 65:59 and McGovern assisted on the DeAngelis winner, which surpassed Michelle Milkovich's '11 record of 15 goals in a season set in 2010. Junior Caitlyn Dowell made seven saves to earn the win in nets as Geneseo moves to 9-8 on the season. The Blue Knights travel to Ithaca on Wednesday.
