SUNYAC Men's Cross Country

Senior Lee Berube (pictured left) won his third straight SUNYAC Men's Cross Country individual title in leading the Geneseo men's cross country team to their third consecutive and 11th overall SUNYAC team championship at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls, New York. Geneseo finished 1-2-3-4-7 for 17 points to win the title as Berube covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:24. Cortland placed second with 60 points and Plattsburgh was third with 90. Senior Eddie Novara finished in 25:51, senior Mark Streb crossed in 26:02, Tom Clark ran a 26:10 and AJ Corcoran completed the scoring five in 26:18. Senior Chris Carter was 10th in 26:35 and Chris Moore placed 11th in 26:38. Head coach Mike Woods '69 earned his ninth SUNYAC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year award.


SUNYAC Women's Cross Country

Senior Alyssa Smith (pictured left) posted a time of 22:52 over six kilometers at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls, New York to lead the Geneseo women's cross country team to their 11th team title in the past 12 years. The Blue Knights won 10 straight from 2000-09 before finishing second to Cortland in 2010. Junior Danae Polsin ran with Smith and finished fourth in 22:53 and senior Ashley Jones posted the best finish in her SUNYAC career with a sixth place time of 23:03. Junior Brigid Heenan was ninth in 23:13 and first year Alyssa Knott placed 14th in 23:35 as the Blue Knights posted 36 points to finish ahead of Plattsburgh's 53 and Cortland's 85. First year Cassie Goodman and sophomore Bekah Steinke placed in the top seven Geneseo runners with an 18th place (23:42) and a 20th place (23:43), respectively. Head coach Mike Woods '69 claimed SUNYAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year.
