The department of intercollegiate athletics and recreation is ready for the first ever SUNY Geneseo Teddy Bear Toss, scheduled for Friday, December 9 as the men's ice hockey team hosts Salve Regina at 7 p.m.

The department is asking all fans to bring a new or gently used stuffed animal to the game and toss it out onto the ice following the first goal scored by the Ice Knights.

The toys will be collected and donated to a three local charities; Catholic Charities, Focus on the Children and Foster Children of Livingston County.

Geneseo President Christopher Dahl, Vice President for Student and Campus Life Robert Bonfiglio and Livingston County Chamber of Commerce President Cynthia Oswald are among the dignitaries slated to aid skaters from the Livingston Blues Youth Hockey organization in collecting the toys from the ice.
