Equestrian Completes Regular Season

Women's Equestrian

The women's equestrian team completed their regular season by showing at Cazenovia on Saturday and St. Lawrence on Sunday.

On Saturday, sophomore Jordan Jones claimed a first place ribbon in Advanced Walk, Trot, Canter and Alex Powers took a first in the Intermediate class over fences. Junior April Krenzer was second over fences in the Novice class and the Blue Knights had six different riders earn third place ribbons in Julianne Pangal over fences in Open, Karina Stamatis on the flat in Intermediate, Emily Lockard on the flat in Novice, Ashley Holmes and Kelly Yaeger in Advanced WTC and Clarisse Birkby in Walk, Trot.

On Sunday, senior Caroline Patton provided the lone first place in Advanced WTC, Jones and Yaeger earned a second in Advanced WTC and Birkby won a second in Walk, Trot. Senior Katie Roberts claimed a second on the flat in the Open class and a third place over fences. Geneseo rode to six more bronze awards with Erin Moran, Ashley Olin and Stephanie Iasiello over fences in Novice, Ryan Lefkowitz over fences in Open, Powers on the flat in Intermediate and Emily Oswald on the flat in Novice.

The Blue Knights finish third in the overall standings in the region and travel to the IHSA Regional Championships at St. Lawrence on Saturday.
