The host Ithaca College Bombers scored two goals in the final four minutes and hung on for a 14-13 win over the Geneseo women's lacrosse team this afternoon. Sophomore Caroline Buonocore scored four times to lead the Blue Knights, junior Rachel Petrone added three goals and one assist, junior Lea Paris dished three helpers and sophomore Kylie Caesar and first year Katey Hart scored twice. Ithaca raced out to a 9-4 lead at the intermission as they dominated the action and extended to a 10-4 lead with 25:25 to play. Geneseo came roaring back by scoring 10 of the next 12 goals to tie the game at 12 on a score by Caesar with 8:58 to play. Ithaca reclaimed a two-goal advantage with scores at 4:27 and 2:18 to play, but Petrone cut the lead to one with a goal with 37 seconds to go. Ithaca won the ensuing draw control and ran out the clock. Sophomore Emily Haggerty had one goal, one assist and six draw controls, sophomore Meredith Weber added a goal and an assist and junior Julie Bernatzky made 13 saves in taking the loss. Geneseo falls to 2-1 on the year and travels to Rochester on Saturday.
