The host St. John Fisher Cardinals scored twice to open the second half and led by no fewer than three goals in the second stanza on the way to an 18-14 win over the Geneseo women's lacrosse team this afternoon. Sophomore Emily Haggerty led Geneseo with three goals, two assists and five draw controls. First year Katey Hart had three goals and one assist, sophomore Caroline Buonocore added three scores and sophomore Kylie Caesar contributed two scores. Juniors Lea Paris and Rachel Petrone and sophomore Meredith Weber netted one goal each. St. John Fisher opened the game with three goals, but Geneseo responded with three of their own for a tie game. After each team scored twice, Fisher used another three-goal spurt on the way to an 11-9 lead at halftime. Junior Julie Bernatzky made 14 saves in taking the loss in nets as the Blue Knights fall to 3-2 on the season.
