Sophomore Sam Trapasso hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning on a 3-0 count to tie the game and senior KK Schaus smashed a two-out, two-run double to left centerfield in the bottom of the sixth inning to propel the Geneseo women's softball team to a comeback win in game two as the Blue Knights swept the visiting Oneonta Red Dragons (10-20/4-10 SUNYAC), 5-1 and 6-3. In the opener, junior Mary Bostwick scattered five hits and struck out six to lead Geneseo. Sophomore Elise Porreca was 2-2 with a double, run and RBI and senior Molly Walsh went 2-3 with a double, run and RBI at the plate for the Blue Knights. In game two, Geneseo took a 1-0 lead in the first inning as senior Kelsey Ogden singled, moved to second on a sacrifice by junior Jane LePage and scored on an RBI single by junior Stef Rosenberg. Oneonta scored two runs in the second and a run in the third to take a 3-1 lead before the Geneseo staged the comeback in the late innings. Junior Katie Gallagher allowed two earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts in five innings and Bostwick got the win after two innings of relief by allowing just one hit and one walk with two strikeouts. Geneseo moves to 15-17 on the season and 8-6 in SUNYAC play. The Blue Knights host RIT for a doubleheader on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
