SUNYAC Announces Chancellor's Scholar-Athletes

The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced the winners of the SUNYAC Scholar-Athlete awards for the 2011-12 fall and winter season and Geneseo claimed two of the 17 awards, given to the member of their respective All-SUNYAC first or second team with the highest grade point average. Cortland claimed four awards, while Plattsburgh and Brockport garnered three each.

Geneseo junior Katie Talbot of the women's tennis team captured her first award during the fall season after earning second team All-SUNYAC with a 3.47 grade point average in biology. Junior Kaitlin Wilcoxen won her first honor for women's swimming and diving in the winter season after claiming first team All-SUNYAC and having a 3.80 grade point average in biology.

The spring sport winners will be announced at a later date.

The Blue Knights have won 58 of the 197 awards (29.4%) conferred since inception of the award in 2003-04.
