SUNYAC Announces Women's Lacrosse, Softball All-Conference



SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse

The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced the members of the 2012 SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse All-Conference team on Tuesday, May 8.

Sophomore attack Caroline Buonocore and senior defender Johanna Trupp earned first team All-SUNYAC for the Blue Knights and sophomore midfielder Emily Haggerty claimed second team All-SUNYAC.

Buonocore, a first team choice in 2011 and the SUNYAC Rookie of the Year, led the Blue Knights with 48 goals and tied for the team lead with 66 points, while Trupp, a second team selection in 2011, paced Geneseo in groundballs (35) and caused turnovers (13). Haggerty combined 43 goals and a team-high 23 assists for 66 points with a team-leading 65 draw controls.

2012 WOMEN'S LACROSSE ALL-SUNYAC

SUNYAC Women's Softball

The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced the members of the 2012 SUNYAC Women's Softball All-Conference team on Tuesday, May 8.

Sophomore designated player Sam Trapasso earned first team All-SUNYAC for the Blue Knights, while senior shortstop KK Schaus and senior catcher Molly Walsh claimed second team All-SUNYAC.

Trapasso led Geneseo with a .413 average, 11 doubles and 27 RBI and tied Schaus with five homeruns to attain her first All-SUNYAC award. Schaus, a first team All-SUNYAC choice in 2011, hit .310 with nine doubles and 21 RBI, while Walsh earned her first All-SUNYAC honor after hitting .255 with five doubles and posting a stellar .978 fielding percentage, including throwing out 13 of 36 base stealers.
