Junior Katie Talbot won sixth singles, 6-1, 6-0 and teamed with first year Amanda Rosati to win 8-5 at third doubles to lead the Geneseo women's tennis team to a 5-1 win over previously unbeaten Wilkes (Pa.) University (19-1). Geneseo took a 3-0 lead after the doubles section as seniors Monica Vieth and Julia Passik combined to win 8-6 at first doubles and seniors Katie Gayvert and Reggie Connelly won 9-8 (8-6) at second doubles. In singles action, junior Sarah Shields won 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 and Rosati lost 7-6, 6-1. Vieth's match at first singles, first year Dexuan Yuan's second singles match and Passik's third singles match were not completed once the Blue Knights completed the win. Geneseo is now 2-2 all-time in NCAA Division III competition. Geneseo takes on host Amherst (Mass.) College on Saturday at 9 a.m.
