Senior Lee Berube earned the eighth All-America certificate of his career with a fourth place time of 30:40.27 in the 10,000 meters tonight at the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field championships in Claremont, California at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
Berube and senior Eddie Novara led the race in the early going, but Wisconsin-Stout's Tim Nelson raced to the win in a time of 30:16.07. Novara finished 19th in a time of 32:50.38.
Junior Marissa Liberati qualified for Saturday's finals in the 3,000-meter steeplechase by placing seventh in her heat and 14th overall with a time of 11:00.39. The top five finishers in each heat and the next four best times reached Saturday's competition.
Junior Alex Brimstein finished seventh in the first heat of the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:29.81. He was 16th overall and failed to qualify for Saturday's finals.
Liberati runs in the steeplechase finals on Saturday, while Berube and Novara run in the 5,000 meters later that same day.
