After a scoreless first half, the Nazareth Golden Flyers scored two goals midway through the second stanza and held on to defeat the host Geneseo women's soccer team, 2-1. The Flyers got their first goal when Kristina McCann played a ball into the box at the right corner of the six and Ashtin Argentieri knocked a shot back across inside the left post at 56:07. Nazareth took a 2-0 lead at 77:31 when Christine Belding played a ball back to 25 yards and Olivia Derleth's blast found its way inside the left post. Geneseo kept the pressure on and scored with 6:15 to play when Stephanie Clookey's flick header tipped off the goalie's fingertips and senior Emily Novak pounced on the loose ball and scored her first of the season. Junior Julia Sanger made four saves in taking the loss for the Blue Knights as they fall to 0-5-0 on the season. Geneseo travels to Lycoming on Saturday.
