Late Barrage Leads Ice Hockey To 8-1 Win At Fredonia

Fredonia, N.Y. -- The Geneseo ice hockey team (2-1-0, 1-0-0 SUNYAC) opened State Universtiy of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play with an 8-1 win at Fredonia (1-2-0, 0-1-0 SUNYAC) Friday.

Corbin Rosmarin scored two goals and Rich Manley collected four assists. Adrian Rubeniuk stopped 22 shots.

Geneseo scored the game's last six goals -- including a 5-0 third-period showing -- after the host Blue Devils scored a power-play goal to pull to within 2-1 less than a minute into the second period. Rosmarin 11 minutes later to start Geneseo's 6-0 run then added his fourth goal of the season late in the third period. Tyler Bricker opened the third period scoring with a short-handed goal. Alex Lubczuk and Colin de Jersey scored their first goals of the season a minute apart and Rosmarin and Zach Martin added late goals to close out the scoring.

Rubeniuk improved to 2-0-0 on the season and picked up an assist on Lubczuk's goal.

Blake O'Connor and Jack Caradonna scored first-period goals with Manley and Zachary Vit picking up assists on both.

Geneseo plays a 7 p.m. game at Buffalo State Saturday.
