Cortland, N.Y. – Seven members of the Geneseo women’s cross country team have earned State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) all-conference honors.
Sophomore Cassie Goodman (Phelps/Midlakes) was named named to the first team
with first year Ashton Hughes (Fairport), senior Brigid Heenan (Liverpool), senior
Cailin Kowalewski (Fredonia), junior Rebekah Steinke (Lima/Honeoye Falls-Lima),
sophomore Alyssa Knott (Smithtown/West) and junior Mary Aldridge
(Rochester/Brighton) earning spots on the second team.
Goodman placed fourth in 23:29.90. Hughes took eighth in
24:09.57 and Heenan placed 10th in 24:11.43. Kowalewski and Steinke were 11th
and 12th, with respective times of 24:11.74 and 24:15.49. Knott finished 14th
in 24:18.68 and Aldridge was 15th in 24:20.51.
Geneseo, ranked 13th nationally, won the SUNYAC title for the second year in a row and the 12th time in the past 13 years.
