Blue Knight Student-Athletes Help Out Community With Leaf-Raking Efforts

GENESEO, N.Y. -- More than 350 Geneseo student-athletes participated in Sunday's leaf raking community service project, coordinated through the Blue Knights' Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC). Student-athletes representing 19 teams raked the leaves at 53 homes in the Geneseo community during Sunday's unseasonably warm weather.

"Our community service projects are opportunities for our student-athletes to give back to the people who have welcomed them into their community," said Mike Mooney, Geneseo's director of intercollegiate athletics and recreation. "The annual leaf raking project is one of our major service efforts. It gives community members a chance to see how our student-athletes truly become part of the Geneseo community during the time they spend here learning and growing as individuals."
