Clinton, N.Y. – The Geneseo men’s swimming & diving team (2-3) posted a win
and two losses in competition Saturday at Hamilton. The Blue Knights defeated
the host Continentals 133-104 and lost to Ithaca 179-58 and to Hartwick 166-65.
Senior Frank Schiappa (East Amherst/Canisius) recorded the Blue Knights’ top
finish, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 21.69. Schiappa also took fourth in
the 100-yard freestyle (48.78).
Junior diver Brandon Peifer (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) took third in both the
one-meter and three-meter competition, posting respective scores of 247.40 and
233.35. Sophomore Brian Schaub (Blauvelt/Tappan Zee) placed fourth in the
200-yard butterfly (2:04.45) and first year Kristian Tialios (Mount
Tremper/Onteora) was fourth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.75). Sophomore
John Nasky (Rochester/Brighton) finished fifth in the 1,000-yard freestyle,
posting a time of 10:15.22.
Geneseo is idle until competing at the Ithaca Invitational
Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
