Brockport, N.Y. -- The Geneseo ice hockey team (7-4-1, 6-1-1) stretched its winning streak to four games, beating host Brockport (3-9-1. 3-5-0 SUNYAC) Friday in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game.
Sophomore Bryan Haude (Hilton/Hartford Wolfpack) stopped all 28 shots he faced to record the first shutout of his career. forward David Ripple (Winter Springs, Fla./Coulee Region Chill) assisted on Geneseo's first goal and scored the second.
First year forward Ryan Donnelly (Stittsville,
Ont.,Kanata Stallions) out Geneseo the board late in the first period,
converting a pass from Ripple into his second goal of the season with two
minutes left before the first intermission.
The Blue Knights took advantage of their second power-play opportunity, taking a 2-0 lead on a Ripple goal 5:28 into the second period. Sophomore forward Justin Scharfe (Webster/Bridgewater Bandits) picked up his seventh assist of the season on Ripple’s goal.
Ripple raised his season totals to nine points (leading Geneseo’s first years), three goals and six assists.
Geneseo is idle until hosting Salve Regina Jan. 5.
