New Paltz Posts Overtime Win in Women's Basketball

New Paltz, N.Y. – The Geneseo women’s basketball team (6-2, 2-1 SUNYAC) forced overtime with 15 seconds left before the undefeated New Paltz Hawks (8-0, 4-0 SUNYAC) emerged with a 73-69 victory Saturday.

Sophomore forward Shannon McGinnis (Walworth/Gananda) tied the game with a lay-up with 15 second remaining in regulation; both teams turned the ball over before being able to get off an attempt at a game-winning shot.
