First-Place Men's Basketball Team Posts 79-70 Win at Buffalo State

Buffalo, N.Y. – The Geneseo men’s basketball team (10-4, 6-1 SUNYAC) won for the eighth time in nine games, beating host Buffalo State (8-5, 3-4 SUNYAC) 79-70 Tuesday in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game. The Knights extended their lead in the conference standings to a game and a half.

Junior guard Connor Fedge (Bellport/Bellport) led all scorers with a career-best 20 points, including a seven-for-eight performance from the free throw line. Sophomore forward Gordon Lyons (Canisius/East Amherst) recorded a double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down a career-best 14 rebounds. Senior forward Ryan Riefenhauser (Dobbs Ferry/Dobbs Ferry) contributed 12 rebounds, nine points and four assists.

The Knights continue SUNYAC play Friday with an 8 p.m. game at Cortland.
