Oswego, N.Y. – The Geneseo women’s swimming &
diving team (6-6), ranked 25th by CollegeSwimming.com, posted a 158-114 win at
Oswego, buoyed by 10 first-place finishes.
Junior Emily Wanamaker (Camillus/Christian Brothers Academy) stretched her
winning streak to seven, winning the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with
respective scores of 224.55 and 235.75.
The quartet of sophomore Haleigh Wixson (Montour Falls/Watkins Glen), sophomore
Eileen Goralski (Queensbury/Queensbury), junior Lily Powell (Selkirk/Bethlehem)
and junior Linda Chang (Great Neck/Great Neck South) took first in the 400-yard
medley relay, posting a time of 4:16.40. Wixson also won the 50-yard freestyle
in 25.32.
Six other Knights were individual winners: sophomore Kristen Bormann
(Farmingdale/Half Hollow Hills East) in the 200-yard butterfly (2:19.82), junior
Lauren Boyce (New Hartford/New Hartford) in the 200-yard backstroke (1:06.41), senior
Erin Dewey (Albany/Guilderland) in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:37.23), senior
Elyssa Max (New Hartford/New Hartford) in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.87), junior
Erin O’Brien (Lansing/Lansing) in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:18.82) and Kala
Wilkins in the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.41).
The Knights return to action Saturday, taking on Buffalo State in a meet at the
University at Buffalo.
