GENESEO,
N.Y. – The Geneseo men’s basketball team (14-5, 10-2 SUNYAC) won its fourth
straight game, knocking off visiting Oneonta (2-15, 1-10 SUNYAC) 79-62 in State
University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) competition Saturday. The
win keeps the Knights alone in first place in the SUNYAC.
Sophomore forward Gordon Lyons (Amherst/Canisius) recorded his sixth
double-double of the season, scoring 15 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. He
added three steals and made seven of his 10 shots from the floor. The Knights,
who rank fourth nationally in field-goal percentage, made 32 of their 50 shots
(64.0 percent).
Four other players scored in double digits: junior forward Matt Curry
(Greenlawn/Harborfields) came off the bench to score 15, junior guard Connor
Fedge (Bellport/Bellport) netted 13, senior forward Ryan Riefenhauser (Dobbs
Ferry/Dobbs Ferry) finished with 13 and junior guard Thomas Decker (White
Plaines/Archbishop Stepanic) added 10.
The Knights continue conference action Tuesday, playing an 8 p.m. game at
Oswego.
