Plattsburgh, N.Y. – The Geneseo women’s basketball team
(16-6, 12-4 SUNYAC) dropped a 53-49 decision to host Plattsburgh (11-11, 7-8
SUNYAC) Saturday in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC)
competition.
The host Cardinals used a 19-10 second-half run to erase Geneseo’s biggest lead
– a 29-21 advantage – then kept the Knights from getting closer than three
points the rest of the game.
Senior guard Melissa Graham (Orchard Park/Mount Mercy) led Geneseo with 19
points. She added six rebounds.
Senior forward Nyisha Lewis (Rochester/Mercy) paced the Knights – who own Division III’s
highest rebounding margin – with a career-best eight rebounds. First year
forward Allison McKenna (Huntington/John Glenn) scored nine points and
sophomore forward Shannon McGinnis (Walworth/Gananda) finished with eight
points and six rebounds.
The Knights play their final non-conference game of the regular season Tuesday,
hosting Keuka at 6 p.m.
