GENESEO, N.Y. – Geneseo ice hockey coach Chris Schultz has
been named State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Coach of
the Year.
Schultz led the Knights to a 17-9-1 record and a third-place finish in the
SUNYAC regular-season standings. Geneseo earned the third seed for the SUNYAC
Championship Tournament, beating Potsdam 9-0 in the quarterfinals before losing
at second-seeded Plattsburgh.
The Knights were nationally ranked by both d3hockey.com and USCHO.com all
season.
Schultz’ award is the second of his career. He was named SUNYAC Coach of the
Year in 2011.
