Wilcoxen Earns All-America Honors To Cap Knights’ Performance At NCAA Championships

Shenandoah, Texas – Junior Kaitlin Wilcoxen (Manlius/Fayetteville-Manlius) earned all-America honors in the 200-yard breaststroke Saturday to cap Geneseo’s performance at the NCAA Championships.

Wilcoxen placed 13th in a time of 2:20.48, earning all-America honors (which are awarded to the top 16 finishers in each event). She had finished 14th during the morning preliminaries, finishing in 2:20.24.

Sophomore Eileen Goralski (Queensbury/Queensbury) also competed in the 200-yard breaststroke, placing 26th in a time of 2:25.51.

Sophomore Haleigh Wixson (Montour Falls/Watkins Glen) competed in the 100-yard freestyle, placing 36th in a time of 52.74.

Geneseo’s 400-yard freestyle relay team placed 17th in the preliminaries, missing a spot in the finals – and all-America honors – by .28 seconds. The quartet of sophomore Abby Max (New Hartford/New Hartford), senior Elyssa Max (New Hartford/New Hartford), junior Lily Powell (Selkirk/Bethlehem) and Wixson posted a time of 3:30.67.

The Knights finished 20th in the team standings.
