Cortland, N.Y. – Geneseo has finished second in the standings for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Dr. Patrick R. Damore Commissioner’s Cup. The Knights have finished second in each of the last 10 years and have placed either first or second in the standings in 16 of the 17 years the trophy has been awarded.
Geneseo trailed only Cortland in the standings, which measure each school’s average performance in the 20 conference sports. The Knights totaled 7.43 points, thanks to first-place finishes in men’s cross country, women’s cross country, women’s swimming & diving and women’s tennis. Geneseo also recorded second-place finishes in women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, softball, men’s swimming & diving and women’s indoor track & field.
