Geneseo Finishes 40th In Learfield Director's Cup Standings

GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo finished 40th in the final 2012-13 Learfield Director’s Cup standings, which annually measure overall program excellence among nearly 450 NCAA Division III institutions.

The Knights compiled 373.50 points to mark the highest total in the 18-year history of the rankings. Led by a tie for ninth place by the women’s lacrosse team, an 18th-place finish by the women’s outdoor track & field team and a tie for 33rd-place by the women’s tennis team this spring, Geneseo also finished second among its State University of New York Athletic Conference peers, as well as third among its New York State counterparts.

Williams (Mass.) won its 16th title after totaling 1,273.75 points, followed by Emory (Ga.) (966.50), Middlebury (Vt.) (941.75), Wisconsin-Whitewater (895) and Washington University (Mo.) (859.50).

This marks the third time in the last four years that Geneseo notched a top-50 finish.
